Course Description

Making sure that you're getting the feedback you need to excel is just as important as making sure that you're giving feedback to other people to help them grow. Professor Streeter examines some of the extreme ends of the feedback spectrum and identifies some methods of giving feedback that do not work with either women or men. In this lesson you will hear from IBM executive Maria Verrigni on her best practices for sharing feedback in a non-threatening way within a group. You will examine some strategies for giving feedback in a way that leads to better performance, as well as explore the critical question of whether you are giving and receiving enough feedback. You will work on an activity where you examine your own delivery of feedback to see whether there are improvements to be made. Finally, you will be given a tool that can help you choose strategies to address some of the problems you identify.
