Course Description

Optimizing the root zone setup, whether using soil or soilless media, is crucial for achieving optimal plant growth and performance in indoor hemp cultivation. In this lesson, you will explore how hemp requires essential nutrients in an appropriate balance for growth and flowering. Additionally, you will review the physical properties of a growing medium, including water-holding capacity and air porosity and the roles they play in achieving the optimal balance between moisture and aeration. You will also explore the chemical properties of a growing medium, including pH and electrical conductivity (EC) and their roles in hemp growth and nutrient availability.

Benefits to the Learner

  • Explore the pros and cons of different types of soilless media used in hemp-growing operations
  • Examine the nutrient requirements for hemp-growing operations
  • Consider best practices for managing physical and chemical properties
