Course Description

Cancer is the second most common cause of death in the United States. Chances are that you or someone you know has been or will be affected by the disease during your lifetime — luckily, however, there are ways to minimize your risk for cancer by making certain dietary changes. In order to understand why these interventions can help, it is first necessary to understand what cancer is and how it forms. In this lesson, you will identify the four stages of cancer and explore the growth of cancer from a biological perspective. You will determine the connection between dietary protein and the formation of abnormal cells, and you will identify ways that nutrition can reduce the risk of cancer.
