Course Description

In addition to biological theories of eating, which assume that the body itself regulates eating behavior, there are also environmental theories of eating, which explain eating behavior through environmental factors. If environmental theories of eating are valid, that means that you can potentially manipulate these external variables in order to have more control over your eating and body weight regulation. In this lesson, you will explore the impact of four main environmental factors on the way you eat and how to potentially mitigate these factors. For the best result, complete these five lessons in the Energy Expenditure and Theories of Eating series prior to taking this lesson: Measuring Energy Expenditure, Energy and Food Intake, Gastric Theory of Eating, Biological Theories of Eating, and Challenging Biological Theories of Eating.
