Course Description

Plants contain many bioactive compounds with pharmacological properties. Extraction methods are key in concentrating and preserving these therapeutic bioactive compounds. In this lesson, you will investigate the bioactive compounds particular to cannabis along with their medicinal potential. You will examine how the choice of extraction method influences which compounds are isolated and at what potency. You will also explore the process of decarboxylation as well as the dangers of synthetic cannabinoids. Finally, you will apply your understanding of cannabis chemical processes by considering several different scenarios.
