Course Description

Different leadership models have emerged and evolved over time. Think of monarchs, Indigenous tribal leaders, and early industrial "robber barons" as examples of the variety history has provided us. It is important to note that all leadership styles are effective for certain types of followers, certain types of tasks, and certain types of operating environments. This is why an effective leader needs to be adaptive. This lesson presents an overview of the prominent schools of thought in leadership studies right now. You will use these models to analyze leaders with whom you are familiar. This exploration establishes the foundation for you to examine and develop your own style in a meaningful and intentional way.
