Course Description

In this lesson, you will consider the benefit of thinking about power as asymmetric control of valued resources in a social relationship. You will examine not only your own relationship with power, but also the interactions and shifts in your environment that determine how power is distributed now and in the future. This is an essential step in understanding how to act intentionally in situations in which power is at play.

Benefits to the Learner

  • Examine your personal relationship with power, and consider the environmental factors that determine how power is distributed in your organization
  • Use a Power and Interactions Journal to track situations in which resources are in play and gain insight into the larger patterns of power in your environment
