Course Description

Strong leaders have the ability to convince others to work together in support of a common cause. Often an objective can be communicated clearly, but sometimes the common cause is less about a clearly-stated objective and more about a way of doing business. As a leader, your ability to articulate values and motivate others toward these values is often at least as important as any specific business objective. In this lesson, you will identify and prioritize the values you claim as your own. You will then reexamine these values in terms of how much of your effort was devoted to supporting each value. You will also consider the inevitable conflict created by competing values and how to minimize this conflict.

Benefits to the Learner

  • Explore the degree of alignment between your espoused values and your actions how that alignment can be improved
  • Identify and prioritize your personal values, and consider how they align with the values of your organization
