Course Description

Many job seekers struggle to find and maintain employment because they do not receive the appropriate pre-employment discovery and assessment. The key to finding a good job match is a full understanding of the skills, assets, challenges and ideal conditions for employment for the job seeker. In this course, you will explore the skills and knowledge you need to conduct and interpret community-based discovery assessments in order to understand these ideal conditions for employment and help the job seeker find the best job possible.

As the assessment and discovery process transforms from site based to community based, you, as an employment support professional, must transform your strategies and approaches to learn about the job seekers in different environments. You will delve into the principles of quality assessment and the tools you need to create unique, person-centered opportunities and situational assessments. You will also discover how to interpret the results of these assessments to develop a personalized employment plan for each job seeker.
