Course Description

For most people, hot summer days inspire thoughts of cold, refreshing beverages. A hot cocoa stand on the beach would be unusual, but you would not be surprised to see frozen drinks for sale. In fact, on the hottest days, that frozen drinks stand will be extra busy. When determining a demand forecast, consider how the time of the year, or seasonality, impacts demand. Otherwise, you might waste resources and space on an out-of-season product. In this lesson, you will estimate seasonality for demand forecasting. Then, you will apply the estimated seasonal index to an example and incorporate the seasonality to generate a demand forecast. For the best result, complete "Assess and Improve the Forecast Performance of a Supply Chain: Measure Demand Forecast Performance" and "Assess and Improve the Forecast Performance of a Supply Chain: Generate Demand Forecast Without Seasonality" prior to taking this lesson.
