Course Description

The reason you eat is to provide your body with energy. Without it, your body would shut down. All three macronutrients found in food — fat, protein, and especially carbohydrates — can be metabolized into energy. In this lesson, you will analyze how nutrients are converted into energy along with ways you can — and cannot — maximize energy production. You will also examine both macronutrients and micronutrients and their roles in energy production. You will then explore the difference between aerobic and anaerobic metabolism and evaluate nutrition claims for validity.
