Course Description

In this lesson, you will examine the three clusters of competencies — knowledge focus, people focus, and results focus — and how they relate to each component of the process. You will explore the meaning of communication and its impact and the importance of ensuring that messages are understood and aligned with the appropriate goal of each component in the process. You will also differentiate among bias, stereotyping, prejudice, and discrimination and explore how they apply to investigations. For the best experience, complete all four lessons of the Internal Investigations series in order: "An Introduction to Internal Investigations," "The Role of the Investigator Throughout the Investigations Process," "Competencies That Apply to the Internal Investigations Framework," and "The Formal Internal Investigations Process."
