Course Description

As you carry out your breeding selection scheme, you will need to determine whether you successfully selected the traits you wanted. You will also have to decide if you will use high- or low-throughput assays for evaluation. These decisions are dependent upon the stage of the breeding process as well as the trait being evaluated.
In this lesson, you will examine high- and low-throughput assays for the evaluation of selected traits, including yield and quality. You will also investigate methods for evaluating pest and disease resistance, such as the importance of using controls. Finally, you will consider the use of indirect traits when evaluating for stress tolerance.

For the best experience, first complete the previous lessons "Hemp Breeding and Selection: Develop a Breeding Plan" "Hemp Breeding and Selection: Choose a Breeding Selection Scheme" and "Hemp Breeding and Selection: Select for Multiple Traits."
