Course Description

When you're working hard to convince someone to try something new, like a newly released phone, you might cite some statistics about about how many others are using that new device. You also might call upon their desire to be an early adopter. You could further mention your expertise in mobile technology to prove you know what you're talking about. All of these strategies have their roots in the work of Aristotle! In this lesson, you will explore Aristotle's three tools of persuasion: ethos, logos, and pathos. You will identify how to use each of these tools to persuade others and recognize how the use of each tool depends entirely on the needs and preferences of your audience.
