Course Description

Think of how you are compensated and rewarded for your performance at work. If you have a job in sales, commissions might be a significant element of your compensation. For most other working professionals, salary comprises the bulk of compensation. Consider, however, that salary — or base pay — comprises only a small percentage of an executive's compensation package. In this lesson, you will take a look at the other elements that executives receive in exchange for their services. You'll have the opportunity to explore the spectrum of tools available to compensate corporate leaders. You'll also take a look at the role that benchmarking plays in setting compensation design and determining what percentage each element comprises of the overall package. You will then use this information to analyze the breakdown of compensation components as they appear in a corporate proxy.
