Course Description

Recall a time that you started a new job. What was the first day like? How about the first week or month? During that time, you learned about your role and your responsibilities, as well as a substantial amount of information about your organization and its operations. This period and process is known as onboarding, and it's a pivotal time for any employee to gain the feeling that they belong and are supported. For marginalized employees, this is particularly true and can drastically impact their relationship with your organization going forward. In this lesson, you will analyze the general onboarding process then take a deeper look into how demonstrating an inclusive culture is a part of that process. You will download and explore tools for creating inclusive pre-boarding (the time between offer acceptance and start date) and onboarding practices, including establishing or refining your organization's pre-boarding and onboarding timelines.
