Course Description

When candidates and organizations reflect on the hiring process, interviews are one of the first components that come to mind. Interviews offer an opportunity to connect with your candidate and understand how they can be an asset to your organization beyond their resume and early-stage evaluation data. In this lesson, you will examine common interview practices and processes as well as the ways that confirmation bias, overconfidence, and concepts such as "cultural fit" can negatively or positively influence interviewing. You'll reflect on an example of bias in the interview process that centers on people with disabilities, and you'll execute solutions to make the interview process DEI centered.
