Course Description

When your organization posts a job description, creates a careers page, or recruits in person, it sends a message to your talent pool. Messaging can communicate inclusivity, which encourages candidates from marginalized backgrounds to apply for a job; it can also contain elements that may discourage those same candidates from applying. If your organization's messaging is constructed using a DEI-centered hiring framework, it will be more likely to encourage candidates from a diverse set of identities and backgrounds to apply for a role. Without proper messaging, your organization can lose those candidates before they even apply for the job. In this lesson, you will explore the approaches that organizations use to develop messages that attract people to an applicant pool. This includes in-depth analyses of job advertisements, job descriptions, and potentially biased language.
