Course Description

This training will prepare you to deliver effective lessons and presentations using curricula in the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP). You will explore the history and role of EFNEP; current nutrition research, resources, and recommendations; principles of food safety and food resource management; best practices in teaching adult and youth learners in a variety of settings; marketing and communication strategies; and the why and how of proper data collection. You will practice and apply what you learn through both self-guided and facilitated work, and you will engage in regular group meetings with your facilitator and your colleagues.

Target Audience

  • Navigating for Success (NFS) is a comprehensive initial staff training developed for frontline staff (paraprofessionals) working in the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP). 
  • SNAP-Ed educators may benefit from this training, although all examples are EFNEP based.
  • Supervisors working in both EFNEP and SNAP-Ed.
