Course Description

Fundamental equity research culminates with your conclusion on whether or not a stock is a buy. In conjunction with all of your research into the fundamental business strategies of the company, calculating the percent upside or downside of your target price is key to making the recommendation. In this lesson, you will appraise all of the materials and information you have gathered during your research and review the multiples calculations you completed to determine a target price. You will then compute whether the target price has a percent upside or downside in comparison to the current market price of the stock. Based on this percentage and all of the information gathered, you will craft a brief investment thesis detailing the high points of why you think this stock is or isn't a smart buy. You will then implement your investment thesis and recommendation in the One-Pager. For the best experience, take all three lessons of the "Evaluating Stocks" series in order: "Act as a Research Analyst to Select a Stock and Research Business Fundamentals", "Practice Limited Valuation Techniques to Determine a Target Price for a Stock", and "Make a Recommendation to Pass, Pursue, or Hold a Stock."
