Course Description

After gathering a pool of potential suppliers, you must whittle down the list to the most qualified and capable. There are two methods used to determine your ultimate supplier: competitive bidding and negotiation. The conditions of each purchasing scenario are unique and must be examined to determine which method is best. In this lesson, you will discover the purchase scenario conditions that warrant the use of either competitive bidding or negotiation. You will weigh the relevant conditions of a procurement scenario, including market conditions, product specifications, and total purchase value, to determine which method is best. You will also walk through the steps involved in the competitive bidding process. Finally, you will consider some ethical dilemmas that may impact your supplier selection process.
