Course Description

While there is an abundance of advice — some good and some bad — on how to find a stock that will be profitable, you can't accurately determine whether the stock is a buy or not without first taking a deep dive into the core qualitative and quantitative business elements of a company. In this lesson, you will explore the premises of fundamental equity research. You will get recommendations for choosing a stock to research and, using those recommendations and available data, select your own stock to study. You will also act as a research analyst to assess the business fundamentals of the company whose stock you chose. Taking notes in your Research Analyst's Journal, you will explore several public sources of information on the company. You will then summarize your findings in the first part of the One-Pager document. For the best experience, take all three lessons of the "Evaluating Stocks" series in order: "Act as a Research Analyst to Select a Stock and Research Business Fundamentals", "Practice Limited Valuation Techniques to Determine a Target Price for a Stock", and "Make a Recommendation to Pass, Pursue, or Hold a Stock."

Benefits to the Learner
