Course Description

Developing empathy for others flows out of our own self-compassion. The meditation routines that you will practice in this lesson are derived from traditional Buddhist meditation practices and have been modified to help develop and expand your empathy for others. You will meditate along with Professor Yuan. After each experience, you are encouraged to track your time and make notes about your experience. For the best experience, before beginning this lesson, complete the lesson "Using Mindfulness Meditation to Strengthen Relationships: Develop the Basic Techniques of Meditation."
