Course Description

In this lesson, you will identify and distinguish among various bonds that bring people and organizations together for collective action. You will practice framing problems that violate your personal values in ways that make them matters of collective concern for groups to which you belong or aspire to belong. Finally, you will craft a collective story for use in a larger public narrative that will be used to move members of a targeted audience toward collective action. For the best experience, take all three lessons of the Engaging in Collective Action series in order: Prepare to Confront Forces That Disempower People and Undermine Democracy, Identify the Bonds That Lead to Collective Action, and Use Established Tools to Build and Strengthen Social Bonds.
