Course Description

In previous lessons, you identified and researched your Absolute targets, conducted Relative research on related sources, and spoke with knowledgeable individuals in Exploration. In this lesson, you will confront your bias, assumptions, and judgments, then synthesize your information to arrive at a decision. In the second part of AREA's E, Exploitation, you will apply a series of exercises to your research results to check your assumptions against evidence and strength-test your work and thinking. In the final A of AREA, Analysis, you will investigate failure: How might it occur, and how can you avoid it? For the best experience, complete all three lessons in the Framing and Breaking Down Complex Problems series, then all three lessons in the Researching and Analyzing Information to Make Your Decision series in order: Contextualize Your Problem or Decision, Identify Sources, Craft Questions, and Conduct Interviews, and Strength-Test Your Decision and Decide.
