Course Description

There are many factors involved in establishing and implementing effective goals. When it comes to promoting healthy behavior changes, it's essential that these goals be realistic and actionable. When a goal is not ideal, you can help guide your client toward enhancing the goal until it is realistic and actionable in the near future. It may be more effective to have your client think about a change or a step along the way. It may also be appropriate for your client to take a small step toward a goal, such as shopping for an item needed to achieve the goal within the next week or so. Even though that may not be as big as your client's first goal in mind, it is an action-related goal. In this lesson, you will delve deeper into goal setting and how you can improve this process for yourself and your clients. Through activities, you will detect goals that need improvement and explore strategies to make them better.
