Course Description

Food safety in the United States focuses on preventing consumer exposure to hazards that could cause injury or illness. A critical responsibility of food producers and manufacturers, therefore, is to prevent the introduction of hazards into their food products. In this lesson, you will be introduced to three types of food safety hazards: physical, chemical, and biological. You will explore how to prevent food contamination and, as appropriate, what food producers can do when contamination does occur.
