Course Description

Client-directed theory and social cognitive theory collectively promote higher engagement in your client-counselor interactions. In this lesson, you will delve into cognitive learning theory and its application in counseling. As you examine the components of cognitive learning theory, you will be introduced to the concept of reciprocal determinism, or "the triangle." You will explore more aspects of behavior and its driving forces. You will also examine another foundational theory: client-centered theory. Through activities, you will shift again to an examination of not only your behavior but also your client's.
