Course Description

As you manage your document design features and structure your messages, you also need to make choices about message content: the topics (and subtopics) that you discuss, the points that you convey concerning each topic, and the support that you provide for each point. As you choose the information to convey in your message, you need to be mindful of the length of your message. If a message is too long, you risk that your audience will not read it. If your message is so brief that it does not provide your readers with all the information that they need, you risk that they may not act — or that they (and you) will need to take more time as they contact you for more information. In order to ensure that your target audience members read the message and can easily find all of the key information that they need, you have to have a basis for determining how much information is too little, how much is too much, and how much is just right.
