Course Description

It doesn't necessarily take a huge belly-laugh joke to win an audience; you just need some solid one-liners or a funny anecdote to tell. In this lesson, Professor Fontaine will focus on using these strategies and jokes specifically for influence, winning favor and attention or whatever your goal may be. You will see how utilizing jokes in social situations can be related to a power struggle, whether you're on the offense or defense in a particular situation. You will hear from a guest speaker, Richard Fontaine, about how these strategies and humor have worked for him in politics. Finally, you will complete an activity in which you will write your own jokes based on scenarios.
