Course Description

This session will focus on management techniques for the wound that is ready to be closed but that poses challenges in terms of tension, mobility, or location. The differences between and indications for local flaps, axillary pattern flaps, and different grafting techniques will be discussed.

  • Be able to identify a wound that is ready for closure but that is high risk for dehiscence by standard techniques
  • Understand the different types of reconstruction flaps and how to perform them successfully
