Course Description

A strategic plan cannot be created in a vacuum; you must include key stakeholders, as they have a lot of influence over how the strategic plan will be implemented and accepted throughout your organization. Getting your stakeholders organized and on board with your strategic plan early can help ensure maximum success, and one way to achieve this is to hold a strategic planning retreat. To plan a successful retreat, you will need to identify your organization's stakeholders and include their perspectives in the retreat through attendance, interviews, or surveys. This means that your strategic plan will give voice to needs across departments in your healthcare organization. In this lesson, you will clarify who stakeholders are in relationship to your healthcare organization and how to include those stakeholders in your retreat. You'll differentiate between which stakeholders to invite and which stakeholders to interview or survey, and you'll practice setting a timeline and planning the agenda to make the retreat efficient and productive for all who attend.
