Course Description

As a leader in a healthcare organization, you must consider how products and services impact your organization. Some products will achieve great gains for your organization, while others may lag behind. Your strategic planning process must take the position of each product and service into consideration, as the decision to prioritize, revitalize, or remove a product or service is not an easy one. This lesson gives you the tools to evaluate your plans and products against market realities. In this lesson, you will use the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) Matrix to divide products and services into four different categories. You'll use data to support your product classifications, and you'll discover the benefits and limitations of using the BCG Matrix. Finally, you'll use the BCG model to synthesize the knowledge you've gained.
