Course Description

Many people take for granted the remarkable work of the respiratory system. The process of pulling oxygen out of the air for the body to use is complex, and a number of illnesses can impede it. In this lesson, you will examine plants that may help soothe a cough, reduce inflammation in the lungs, or make it harder for pathogens to take hold. This lesson assumes you have knowledge of the basic safety implications of plant-based medicines explored in the Historical Applications of Plant-Based Medicine lessons: Examine the History of Ethnobotany, Categorize Active Ingredients, Use Plant-Based Medicine Safely, and Become an Informed Consumer.
