Course Description

After you have established a foundation for doing your own sketches to explore design experiences, it is time to turn your user research data into a design concept. This is when both the figurative and literal pictures of your idea begin to materialize. These initial storyboards will lead to higher-fidelity renderings, but the idea must first be firmly represented in a design concept. In this lesson, you will start by examining the general parts of what goes into developing a design concept. You will explore the kinds of tasks and scenarios that inform the completion of storyboards, and you will be provided with tools to help you build your storyboards in future design projects. You will then explore how each storyboard frame is used to represent the user story. You will also discover how each decision about what to display in the storyboard is made, from the number of frames to the specific pieces of the story. Last, you will create your own design concept in response to your design challenge.
