Course Description

In this lesson, you will explore the steps of conducting a contextual interview from beginning to end. You will examine the aspects of having a smooth initial contact, then analyze the best manner for conducting the interview. You will further explore how to collect notes while conducting the interview. Finally, you will develop skills for creating a useful session summary. Together, the steps will prepare you for applying these skills in your interviews with real participants. This lesson assumes you have knowledge of the essentials of human-centered design explored in these "Human-Centered Design Essentials" lessons: "What Is HCI?," "The Human-Centered Design Mindset," "Measure Usability and Assess User Experience," and "The Stages of the Human-Centered Design Process."
