Course Description

In a company with one employee, there is no disagreement over rules, roles, or responsibilities. Once a company has multiple employees, however, it needs to be organized in a way that makes sense for the type of business it is in and the markets it serves. Decisions must be made by the appropriate people, and information must flow through the entire company in a clear manner for it to achieve its organizational goals, where every employee's job must fit within that overall structure. In this lesson, you will define the principles of organizing and list the types of organizational structures that companies can use.

Benefits to the Learner

  • Describe the principles of organization and the types of organizational structures that companies can use
