Course Description

Having a better understanding of each Social Style® and anticipating others' styles has its advantages. If you're not careful, however, this seemingly useful strategy can limit your ability to process information that goes against the "norm." When you only pay attention to what fits your preexisting notions about a situation, you increase your potential for blind spots, leading to cultural miscues and unfavorable interactions in your cross-cultural work environment. So now you might ask yourself, "How can I fix a blind spot if I don't know I have one?" In this lesson, you will explore how culture plays a significant role both in how you present yourself and how you view others. You will also discover the ways each Social Style® is prone to having its behaviors and natural tendencies misinterpreted based on cultural customs. Finally, you will become more aware of your social blind spots and discover strategies to overcome them. The Social Style® Model is a trademark of the TRACOM Corporation.
