U.S. employment law is different depending on whether a worker is an employee, a partner, an independent contractor, an intern, or a volunteer. How do you determine which worker falls into which category? More to the point, what are the legal ramifications of these various work statuses? In this lesson, you'll explore how the law regards these different types of workers and study court cases that divided judges.
