Course Description

What if there were a way for you to communicate more easily with your coworkers, your kids, your significant other, your supervisor, your doctor, and other people with whom you interact on a daily basis, even when you disagree? In this course, you will practice using the Listen, Acknowledge, Respond, and Add information (LARA) method, a powerful tool that will help you communicate more effectively across differences.

As you progress through the course, you will gain skills that will allow you to better prepare both mentally and emotionally for challenging conversations. You will practice a deeper level of listening and assess your listening skills. You will then have the opportunity to navigate scenarios where the LARA method of communication can be fruitfully employed in the workplace.

Throughout the course, you will fill out a private reflection journal that is yours to keep.

These courses must be taken in order, and this course follows “Understanding Ourselves and Our Ability to Create Change.”
