Course Description

The Segway personal transportation machine seemed like a good idea. The company had an exceptional leadership team and lots of financing, but its signature product failed. What happened? In this lesson, you will explore the Segway business model so that you can apply its lessons to a greater understanding of experimentation planning. You will create a brief analysis of the company and discuss some of the factors that led to its failure, despite the product's abundant promise. Finally, you will write a generalizable rule to help guide you in making decisions that will help your venture succeed.

Benefits to the Learner

  • Create an analysis of a company and its failing factors
  • Explore a generalizable rule for "failing faster and cheaper" rather than slowly and expensively
