Course Description

Artificial intelligence is transforming how governments, policy organizations, and their partners deliver services, shape regulations, and build public trust. Understanding AI capabilities and limitations is essential for anyone involved in making informed decisions that serve the public interest. This course will equip you with the vocabulary, frameworks, and judgment to ask the right questions, set appropriate boundaries, and guide AI initiatives in ways that support public accountability.

Through applied scenarios, you will distinguish between task automation and AI-enabled decision making to determine where human judgment must remain central. Working with a selected workplace problem throughout the course, you’ll practice identifying AI opportunities, mapping decision boundaries, and evaluating risks and accountability structures. By the end of this course, you'll be prepared to lead AI conversations, make informed decisions about AI adoption, and establish governance frameworks that maintain accountability while advancing your organization's mission.
