Course Description

Artificial intelligence is reshaping how projects are planned, executed, and delivered. Project managers who can use AI tools well have a true advantage, freeing up time to focus on the work where they provide the most value: making difficult judgment calls, assessing risk, and navigating challenging conversations.

This three-hour, hands-on online Workshop focuses on the practice of project management. Through live demonstrations and guided exercises, participants will apply AI to real project management work: drafting charters and communication plans, automating reports, identifying and analyzing risks, summarizing meeting notes and status reports, and sharpening stakeholder communications. Along the way, we’ll examine the fundamentals of effective prompting, strategies for critically evaluating AI output, and the ethical and data privacy questions every PM should settle before bringing AI into their workflow. Participants leave with a personal toolkit of prompts and techniques they can put to work the next day.

Benefits to the Learner

  • Understand the current state of AI and identify where it can have the greatest impact across the stages of a project.
  • Create core project artifacts with AI assistance, including project charters, stakeholder communications, slippage detection, and status reports.
  • Move beyond artifacts and use AI for actual management, not just generating project artifacts.
  • Understand AI failure modes and where issues like accuracy, completeness, and bias can arise to avoid incorporating them into project deliverables.
  • Apply ethical and data privacy guidelines when using AI with project information, including recognizing what should and shouldn't be shared with AI tools.
  • Develop a personal action plan for integrating AI into a project management workflow, starting with current projects.

Target Audience

  • Project managers at any experience level who want to integrate AI tools into their day-to-day work
  • Program and portfolio managers looking to improve efficiency across multiple projects and teams
  • Project coordinators and analysts who support project documentation, reporting, and communications
  • Team leads and functional managers who manage projects as part of a broader role, even without a formal PM title
  • Scrum masters and agile practitioners interested in using AI to streamline ceremonies, backlogs, and team communications
  • PMO staff responsible for standards, templates, and processes who want to guide responsible AI adoption in their organizations
