Course Description

Experience Level: AI Transformation

AI adoption raises complex legal, regulatory, and strategic questions for organizations. Leaders and professionals need practical tools to assess risk, comply with regulations, and translate findings into actionable policies.

This Workshop guides participants through hands-on exercises that integrate strategic, regulatory, and operational perspectives. We’ll start with a multi-jurisdiction compliance scan, mapping AI regulations across sectors to an organizational case study. Participants then perform an AI risk assessment, evaluating potential legal, operational, reputational, and ethical impacts. Finally, we’ll synthesize these findings into governance and policy recommendations, including internal policy language and board-level guidance, grounded in what is feasible for real-world AI deployment.

By the end of the session, participants will have practical tools and templates to evaluate AI risks, comply with regulatory requirements, and produce actionable policy recommendations for their organizations.

Benefits to the Learner

  • Conduct a multi-jurisdiction regulatory compliance scan covering U.S. state laws and sector-specific rules using a template
  • Perform an AI risk assessment using a severity-by-likelihood matrix across several dimensions (legal, operational, reputational, and ethical)
  • Write governance and policy bullet points that combine compliance findings, risk assessment, and recommended AI use policy provisions into a recommendation for organization leadership

Target Audience

  • Legal, compliance, and risk professionals (e.g., in-house counsel, compliance officers, risk managers) who are responsible for developing or advising on AI governance policies and assessing regulatory requirements across jurisdictions
  • Business and functional leaders (e.g., operations, HR, finance, innovation leads) who oversee AI deployment in their areas and need to integrate risk, compliance, and strategic considerations into organizational policy
  • Policy, legal operations, and AI strategy professionals tasked with translating operational AI knowledge into actionable governance frameworks, internal policies, or board-level recommendations
