Course Description

This professional certificate program is designed to build knowledge, skills, abilities, and confidence in anyone working to improve community and public health. Via 15 modules organized into five courses, you will develop plans to work with others in your community to improve public health.

You will begin with an overview of what public health is and build your understanding of the various factors that impact health as well as the role you can play in improving health outcomes. You will then focus on how to increase the reach and outcomes of your public health efforts by targeting those efforts with data-based analysis, by building trust and coalitions, and by communicating effectively to influence behaviors. Finally, using a case-study approach, you will review and reflect on the response to previous and current public health emergencies, helping you consider how to apply those lessons to future health crises. Health happens when we all have the things we need to prevent illness and support wellness. This program will help you to be a leader of health in your community.
