Certificate Description

In today’s challenging times, strategically developing and managing employee relations has never been more critical for organizations. Increasingly, all aspects of human resources involve understanding your policies and legal issues, interacting with employees and managers, providing constructive performance feedback, and constantly making employee-related decisions that affect your organization. Enhancing these important skills can give you an edge in your career.

In this comprehensive certificate program, you will begin by completing six courses where you will examine methods for recognizing policies and practices that are impacted by key employment law requirements in the United States and in countries with different legal systems, as well as for engaging in conversations to identify methods for responding to employee and manager concerns. The courses feature downloadable tools and frameworks designed to help HR professionals assess legal issues and make employee relations decisions.

After completing the first portion of the program, you will start a 7-week live virtual course consisting of twelve 3-hour interactive Zoom sessions. Using the employment law foundation and employee relations frameworks presented in the online courses, you will apply and build upon the skills for handling employee issues, working with managers on providing performance feedback, identifying preventive harassment and retaliation actions, and facilitating conflict. You will have the opportunity to engage with employee relations and employment law experts and your peers to discover best practices and discuss current employee-related challenges and problem-solving techniques. By the end of the program, you will have an in-depth understanding of the frameworks, processes, techniques, and communication skills necessary to help you develop effective employee relations management practices, thus enhancing the success of your organization’s mission through its employees.

Due to the highly interactive nature of the live virtual course, attendance at every session is required to successfully complete the program. Please review the live virtual course description for dates and times and choose the set that fits your schedule.
